IO Interactive has dropped a high-stakes mission into Hitman: World of Assassination, bringing Mads Mikkelsen’s iconic Bond villain Le Chiffre into the fold as a limited-time Elusive Target.
Announced during Summer Game Fest 2025, the collaboration is live now on PC and consoles, offering players the chance to take out the cold, calculating antagonist from Casino Royale – this time, in the form of a high-profile contract for Agent 47.
Paris Mission, Mind Games, and a 007 Tease
The mission is set within the Paris location, reimagined to host a lavish casino event where Le Chiffre is lurking.
In a statement, Mikkelsen described the character as “calculating, cold, and ruthless,” and promised “mind games, high stakes, and twists” that challenge players to think like both a hitman and a spy.
Footage from the reveal trailer shows off classic Le Chiffre mannerisms and poker-table tension, now woven into Hitman’s stealth-assassination structure.
IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak framed the crossover as “a small taste of bigger things to come,” referencing their in-development Bond game 007: First Light.
Players who eliminate Le Chiffre between now and 6 July 2025 will unlock exclusive content for that title.
Rewards and The Banker Pack
Alongside the mission, IO has introduced a themed Banker Pack, which includes:
- King of Cards Suit
- Casino Monarchique Chip
- The Banker Rope
- The Banker Silenced Pistol
These cosmetic and utility items are designed to complement the tone of the mission, reinforcing its high-roller espionage vibe.
IOI’s Bond Universe Begins Here
While the Le Chiffre contract is a standalone Elusive Target, its timing and presentation underscore IO Interactive’s broader ambitions with the Bond license.
Earlier this week, the studio released the first trailer for 007: First Light, introducing a young Bond at the outset of his MI6 career.
The crossover with Hitman bridges both franchises in tone and setting, serving as a thematic prologue to what lies ahead.
Players have until early July to complete the hit and secure the crossover rewards, after that, Le Chiffre disappears, just as elusive targets always do.
