Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was fully showcased at Sony’s presser in Cologne today!
The event opened up with lead character “Edward Kenway” and an unknown pirate talking in a deep conversation upon the deck of the Jackdaw. Once they finished, they sailed off to shore to attack an enemy naval fort.
The video showed some astonishing visuals, with the crew ducking and diving out of the way from incoming fire, cannons being fired at enemy vessels, and pirates trying their hardest to avoid incoming mortar bombs that were being fired from the fort.
When Edward was extremely close to a hostile ship, the option did actually come up on-screen to board it immediately and fight the surviving crew members on their own deck.
Upon the destruction of the fort, remote play was then introduced to take complete control of the demo by another staff member of Ubisoft’s team using the PlayStation Vita. It was running quite good, with no lagging what so ever.
The video was breathtaking and really showed gamers that they’re going to be treated when the latest installment hits stores this fall. The visuals were stunning, and they were a overwhelming improvement on last year’s AC3.
The next demonstration from Ubisoft, was all of the game’s PS3 & PS4-exclusive content. This simply follows Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation’s Aveline, as it showed her taking down guards and chatting about how she is all for justice and all that.
Sony’s Jim Ryan commented saying that “almost all” PlayStation 4 games will feature the remote play option with the PS Vita.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag slices it’s way to the Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on Oct 29th in North America, and November 1st all across Europe. It’ll make it’s way to the PS4 as a launch title and the Xbox One at a later date.
